Now, the Indian schools community has decided to finish the second time facility and with the new expansion plan, the school authority will open six new schools in Oman in different areas. Due to this decision, three thousand different students have been affected as they were studying in the afternoon session.
,On this move, the chairman of the board of directors of Indian schools in Oman Wilson George, talked with the media and said that the new schools that have been planned will be in six areas; Barka, Saham, Sinaw, Amerat, AL Ansab and Duqam.
He also said that firstly, the construct will begin for AL Ansab School for which the necessary clearance has been taken from the concerned authorities and the construction is planned to start in third quarter of 2016. He added that in this school, 2000 students would be admitted.
However, there are some financial issues as within limited time frame, the construction of schools in all these six areas is not possible especially if we take into account, the financial aspect. For which, the board has decided to do a collaboration with some private investor. In Amerat and Barka, the board has already found an investor for the construction process and the negotiations are also going on for a rental building.
In other areas, the board is working on a feasibility report to know the exact areas where the schools have to be started.
The chairman also said that this plan of 6 schools is decided to complete in 5 years and will help to bring down some pressure from already present six schools in the capital city. He said that in this way, we would be able to reduce the size of a class that is touching to 50 students. The parents welcome the school openings in new areas as they said there were not happy with the evening shift.
The Indian school in the Darsait area is the largest one with the 9300 students and in the recent days, the schools had to cut down the number by applying various policies because the traffic had become a serious issue in the area.
